I have been dating a younger guy for three years now. I am 40 and he is 29. We have lived together for the past 2 and 1/2 years. I feel very bonded to him but am not ready to get married again and don't think I ever want to. I can not have any more kids and he gets along good with mine. At first it was weird to date him because my daughter is only 8 years younger than him and many of her friends were the same age as him. But come to think of it; many of my friends were too. (Related: Ben McKenzie likes older women) A lot of women like me are starting to date younger men not because we have some weird fantasy to be with them, but it just that they are the only ones that are available now and it is far more acceptable to have such relationship. After my divorce I didn't find very many guys my own age, that I was interested in, probably because most of them are either married still or there just are not as many men in that age range as there are women. This also shows that men who do get divorced in their 30s and 40s get into a relationship with a younger woman fairly quickly, leaving a lot of divorced females with only limited choices in their peer group. For instance, the men I did find who were only a few years younger seemed to have a playboy attitude and acted as if they wanted to be a bachelor their whole live. I will admit that I have always had a jealous nature, and I also worry about my looks compared to that of a 22 year old, so it has been hard for me to handle the age difference - I knew it would be, and at the beginning of the relationship, I was just in it for the fun of dating a younger guy. Then my heart started getting involved - I think it was the combination of the energetic action in the bedroom and the nights we would make up fairy tales to tell each other as we would fall asleep, combined with the fact that he treated me so incredible. Now when I get nervous about the age difference and all the hot younger girls that he could be dating instead of me I realize it is all about taste and think of these three things:
Last year's white zinfandel vs. a vintage late harvest Riesling
Britney Spears vs. Cindy Crawford
Hamburger and French fries vs. steak and lobster
