I have been dating a younger guy for three years now. I am 40 and he is 29. We have lived together for the past 2 and 1/2 years. I feel very bonded to him but am not ready to get married again and don't think I ever want to. I can not have any more kids and he gets along good with mine. At first it was weird to date him because my daughter is only 8 years younger than him and many of her friends were the same age as him. But come to think of it; many of my friends were too. (Related: Ben McKenzie likes older women) A lot of women like me are starting to date younger men not because we have some weird fantasy to be with them, but it just that they are the only ones that are available now and it is far more acceptable to have such relationship. After my divorce I didn't find very many guys my own age, that I was interested in, probably because most of them are either married still or there just are not as many men in that age range as there are women. This also shows that men who do get divorced in their 30s and 40s get into a relationship with a younger woman fairly quickly, leaving a lot of divorced females with only limited choices in their peer group. For instance, the men I did find who were only a few years younger seemed to have a playboy attitude and acted as if they wanted to be a bachelor their whole live. I will admit that I have always had a jealous nature, and I also worry about my looks compared to that of a 22 year old, so it has been hard for me to handle the age difference - I knew it would be, and at the beginning of the relationship, I was just in it for the fun of dating a younger guy. Then my heart started getting involved - I think it was the combination of the energetic action in the bedroom and the nights we would make up fairy tales to tell each other as we would fall asleep, combined with the fact that he treated me so incredible. Now when I get nervous about the age difference and all the hot younger girls that he could be dating instead of me I realize it is all about taste and think of these three things:

* Refrain from listing what you DON’T want in a partner. Although it’s tempting to say, “I don’t want someone who attracts drama” or “I don’t want someone who is too needy”, what you’re communicating to others is where past relationships have gone wrong, and that you still feel resentful. It’s a turn-off to make a list in your profile of what you don’t want in a partner.

* Don’t make your list too specific. It’s fine if you’re looking for a girl or guy with similar interests, but don’t get carried away and list every single quality you desire. Chances are, you’re being a bit unrealistic in expecting one person to be the perfect blend of everything you want, and you’re setting yourself up for disappointment. Online dating is about expanding your social circle and dating a variety of people. This is a good way to fine-tune what you really want, so don’t filter out too many prospects in the beginning.

* What makes for a fun date doesn’t necessarily make for a good partner. I have several girlfriends who envision meeting the perfect partner, say one who is handsome, charming, ambitious, successful, romantic, likes to dance, and likes to have fun. Although this is a good list for having a great date, these qualities aren’t necessarily what to look for in the long term. Just because he is handsome and charming doesn’t mean he’s good partner material. Think about the values you want to share, like kindness and consideration, rather than only superficial qualities.

* Reconsider your “must-nots” or deal-breakers. If you won’t date anyone who is older than you, who has been married before, or who makes less than you do for example, it’s time to reconsider your filters. These are not relationship deal-breakers, so don’t restrict your choices so thoroughly from the beginning. Perhaps the girl who is a few years older is perfect for you in every other way, or maybe the guy who’s making less now is saving to start his own business.

Bottom line, keep an open mind and don’t limit yourself to who you think you should be dating. And don’t let your past get in the way of meeting a great future partner.

Missing Kuantan girl

KUANTAN: Rozaliya Mat Lazim, 20, who was reported missing here since Oct 13 after going out with her fiance to buy things for their wedding was found in Kuala Lumpur today.

Kuantan police chief ACP Mohd Jasmani Yusoff said as a result of media reports which also carried her pictures, a call was received from a member of the public at noon about having seen the girl, who was originally from Bandar Baru Cheneh in Kemaman, Terengganu.

"We sent a team to Kuala Lumpur to fetch Rozaliya back to meet her family," he told reporters here tonight, adding that the case was regarded as solved.

Mohd Hasmani said after a police report was lodged on her disappearance at 10.40pm last Wednesday, a special team was set up to trace her whereabouts.

He said based on the police investigation, no crime was involved in her disappearance as the girl was working for two days in Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur.

She was said to have gone by bus alone and on her own accord to Kuala Lumpur.

Rozaliya's arrival here today at 8pm was received with joy by her family members and her fiance Mohd Hilmi Mohd Nor's family.

Girls starting puberty as young as SEVEN due to rising childhood obesity

Growing levels of obesity are seeing some girls start puberty as young as seven, studies show.

Experts say the extra fat tissue is encouraging young bodies to produce hormones which kickstart sexual changes.

Researchers in the U.S. found that one in ten girls aged seven had developed breast tissue, one of the first signs of puberty.

Doctors in Britain backed up the research, saying they have treated girls of seven and eight with puberty problems.

They warn that the early exposure to oestrogen has serious health implications because it puts the girls more at risk of breast cancer and heart disease.

They are also more likely to be bullied and could be encouraged into sexual relationships by teenage boys who take them to be a few years older.

Dr Jeremy Allegrove, a consultant paediatrician at the Royal London Hospital, said: ‘We do see girls as young as seven and eight who have started puberty.

'The reason we see them is that mothers bring them in concerned that they are developing very early and will be starting their periods before secondary school. ‘It is only a small amount. I could not say how many.

‘Sometimes we treat them to delay the onset of puberty, sometimes we don’t, depending on the circumstances.’

Introducing Dr. Nancy Kalish, psychologist and author of the infamous Lost Love Project. After interviewing over 3500 people aged 18 to 89 on the subject, it became evident that finding and rekindling your lost love is big romantic business.

Two thirds of respondents had reunited with their first love from when they were 17 years old, and the success rate of staying together for these unions stands at 78 per cent.

The trouble, however, with contacting a long lost flame is the potential for emotional (and sometimes physical) affairs.

After all, once those first-love feelings of intoxication come flooding back, they're almost impossible to ignore. Why? Because these lovers "knew each other in their formative years," explains Kalish. "They grew up in the same town, went to school together, were usually first loves; they knew each other's families. This is not a fantasy. It is a love that was interrupted."

But when you do find your interrupted love, it isn't something to be taken lightly. What if either of you now have a family? If you've relocated? If you've found love elsewhere?

The question that many have had to ask is: do you go at it? Do you kiss your current life goodbye? Or do you give your old flame the goodbye kiss?
